Pre-Production Retreat
To get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, Kathryn and I decided to book an Airbnb in Odessa, Florida. Because we wanted somewhere quiet for productivity purposes, but also a space surrounded by nature, we chose to stay in a lake house on a property filled with goats, free-range chickens, a sweet little lamb and two friendly pups. So far, we’ve gotten tons of work done, including a lengthy phone call with our Production Designer, Helen Morales, and a full budget overhaul thanks to a one-on-one Skype session with our Production Accountant, Robert Losier. We also continued our work on our Fiscal Sponsorship applications, added this blog to our nearly completed website and set up our donor page!
We feel so humbled by how supportive our collaborators, family and friends have been thus far. Filmmaking is a dream that often seems scary, unrealistic and crazily out of reach. Luckily, both myself and Kathryn, have overcome hurdles so significant in our lives, that mounting a feature film seems like a fun challenge that we’re more than capable of tackling.
Above is a series of photos from our much needed pre-pro retreat. We’ll also put a direct link to our donor page below so you can check it out!
